PlatformWindows 10 / 11
.NETFramework 4.8
QSKing 1.0 is the initial public release. It delivers the complete BIM QTO workflow — from Revit model extraction through Workbook BQ authoring to Export BQ — inside Autodesk Revit, following AIQS Standard Method of Measurement rules throughout.
New
QTO Schedule
- Extract quantities from Walls, Floors, Roofs, Structural Columns, Structural Framing, Ceilings, Stairs, Doors, and Windows in a single Run QTO command
- Auto-calculation of Excavation in successive 1 m depth stages from commencing level (AIQS SMM E1–E5) — Set Excavation RL command
- Auto-calculation of Formwork to concrete elements — sides of columns, sides and soffit of beams, soffit of slabs — classified by AS3610-1995 finish class F1–F5
- Rebar extraction by bar diameter and element, converted to weight (kg/t) using nominal mass per metre
- Auto openings adjustment — wall face areas measured net of openings exceeding 0.5 m² per AIQS SMM W1
- Painting extraction via Set Paint command — painted area by element, internal and external classified separately
- External Finish extraction via Set External Finish command — overrides compound structure finish layer
- Pick & Choose function — link manual items to selected Revit elements for non-modelled quantities
- QTO Schedule grouping by Category, Family, Type, Material, Level, and Scope (Internal / External)
- Filter by category, level, scope, and link status (Linked / Unlinked only)
New
Workbook BQ Authoring
- Three-level Workbook — Level 0 (trade sections), Level 1 (measurement items), Level 2 (take-off detail)
- Link QTO Schedule rows to Workbook items — single or multiple rows per item
- Add Row, Insert Above, Insert Below at all three levels
- Bold and Underline formatting for headings and sub-headings within sections
- Move Up / Move Down row reordering
- Delete rows at all three levels
- Rate entry (E:Rate) and automatic F:Subtotal and H:Total calculation
- G:Factor column for waste allowances and rounding
- Sheet total displayed at bottom of Level 1
- B:Description column synced to Level 1 sheet title — drill-in always shows current description
- Import Template function — load a pre-built BQ structure from a template file
- Export BQ to Excel — AIQS SMM trade order, formatted descriptions, quantities, rates, and totals
New
Delta Engine and Revision Tracking
- Re-run QTO — compares current extraction against previous snapshot, identifies new, modified, and deleted elements
- Orphan warning (⚠) on Workbook items whose linked elements have been deleted from the model
- Orphan detection covers all item types — Walls, Painting, Finishes (external), and Pick & Choose items
- Pick & Choose items whose source elements are all deleted shown at Quantity = 0 with orphan flag
- Category filter awareness — items excluded by extraction options are not falsely flagged as deleted
New
Authoring Commands
- Set External Wall — marks wall instances as External scope; unflagged walls default to Internal
- Set External Finish — writes QTO_ExternalFinish parameter to wall instances; overrides compound structure finish on extraction
- Set Paint — writes QTO_PaintFinish parameter to walls, floors, ceilings, and structural framing
- Set Formwork Type — writes AS3610 finish class (F1–F5) to concrete elements; defaults to F3
- Set Excavation RL — writes commencing level (m AHD) and blinding thickness to foundation elements
- Set Level — level name override for elements spanning multiple levels
- Set SubType — element sub-type classification for SMM description (e.g. Ground beam, Pile cap)
Known limitations
Version 1.0
- Revit 2022 and 2025+ not yet supported — Revit 2024 only in this release
- Linked models (external Revit links) are not extracted — host model elements only
- Slab-beam join geometry must be applied in Revit before running QTO to avoid volume overlap in concrete quantities
- Non-rectangular openings (arched heads, splayed reveals) use projected face area for deduction
Upgrading from the free trial: Your Workbook data, linked quantities, and all authoring command parameters (QTO_PaintFinish, QTO_ExternalFinish, etc.) are stored in the Revit file and are fully preserved when you subscribe. No re-linking required.
